Tucked into the buzz of Enmore Road, Flight Path offers something a little different. More than a wine bar, it is a cellar door experience right in the heart of the Inner West. It is a place where great wine meets genuine hospitality without any of the fuss.
Every few weeks, Flight Path features a new artisan winery, giving visitors the chance to explore different regions, philosophies and winemakers. It is a way to introduce people to bottles they might never otherwise find and to make wine feel fun, approachable and part of the everyday.
For owners Elise Williams and Matt O’Keeffe, Newtown was the only place that made sense. Long-time locals themselves, they knew the community would embrace something creative.
“Newtown is a place with heart and soul. It is full of amazing locals but open to all comers who want to enjoy what it has to offer.”
Flight Path reflects that spirit. There is no judgement, no pressure, just good wine, good people and the chance to try something new. “We are serious about our wine but we do not take ourselves too seriously,” Elise says. “You do not need to be a wine expert to feel comfortable here. You just need to be curious.”
Being surrounded by great neighbours has helped too. Collaborations with Maiz, pizza deliveries from Rosso Antico, and the generosity of The Stinking Bishops have all helped Flight Path find its place. “We all know we are stronger together,” Elise says. “Helping each other out means we all win.”
On a night off, you might find the Flight Path team grabbing a green falafel from Cairo Takeaway or picking up a pizza from Westwood to enjoy in Camperdown Park. It is those small rituals that remind them how special this neighbourhood really is.
At Flight Path, the only rule is to trust your own taste. As Elise puts it, “Choose what you love, not what you think you are supposed to like. Wine should be fun, not intimidating.”
