New Theatre

New Theatre is Australia’s oldest continuously producing theatre company, presenting bold, affordable and socially engaged theatre in the heart of Newtown. Established in 1932, New Theatre produces a diverse annual season of contemporary Australian works, international plays, classics and new writing, alongside special events, readings and community programs. As a not-for-profit community theatre, the company is committed to artistic excellence, accessibility and fostering emerging and established theatre-makers in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
