What’s Next for Newtown Enmore? A Map, a Magazine & a Movement

On Monday 31st March, the Newtown Enmore Business Community came together to share big ideas and build momentum for a precinct that’s bold, connected, and community-led.

Thanks to everyone who made it such an energising evening—from the local businesses and organisations who showed up, to our speakers, and to Alex from Marani Deli for fuelling us with snacks and good cheer.

Precinct Map & Branding: A New Look for a New Chapter

With support from the City of Sydney, our precinct map is entering its final stages. Designed and led by Lachlan Bruce of Good Decisions, the new interactive map highlights key business areas—King St North, King St South, Enmore Rd, Erskineville Rd, and Australia St—and will appear both digitally and in high-traffic locations like Newtown Station.

This is more than a map—it’s part of a broader campaign to boost visibility for our business community, with a fresh brand identity, digital storytelling, social media rollout and signage upgrades on the horizon.

We’re also calling for Precinct Ambassadors—locals who love where they work and want to be part of the voice and story of the precinct. We’ll provide more information as we received it in the coming weeks.

TOWNMAG Is Coming – And You Can Be In It

We’re proud to announce the launch of TOWNMAG, our first-ever printed precinct magazine.

Launching in May, this biannual publication will feature stories from across the community—spotlighting our people, places, and initiatives.

We’re only printing 20 ad spaces in this pilot edition, made affordable thanks to support from the NSW 24-Hour Economy Commission and Inner West Council.

Want to be featured?
Advertise in TOWNMAG or email admin@newtownenmorebusiness.community

Save the Date: Join us at Odd Culture on Tuesday 20 May to celebrate the launch of the magazine and precinct identity.

Ways to Support Our Broader Community

We also heard from three brilliant organisations doing important work—and they need our support.

Heleana Genaus

Heleana is a force of nature. The founder of In Venus Veritas and The Petrolette, and a co-founder of Rising Sun Workshop. Heleana shares her love of vintage cars, riding motorcycles, and (not-so-secretly) dreams of flying planes and piloting a riva aquariva (a la Sophia Loren) very fast through the canals of Venice. Supportive and connected, community is her lifeblood, and she is as real as they come.
