The IDA Foundation, in partnership with American Express, has just launched the 4th year of the Backing International Small Restaurants Grant Program — and it’s now open to small restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne, and New Zealand. Newtown icons, Little Lagos Bar and Bistro and Rising Sun Workshop are amongst previous recipients! The deadline to submit applications is Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:59 pm ET.  

On a crisp evening at Odd Culture Newtown, more than 60 local business owners and creatives came together to launch something bold: a shared district identity for Newtown, Enmore and Erskineville.

With a new precinct map, brand, and the first edition of TOWNMAG, the launch marked a turning point for the NEBC — a grassroots business community building visibility, trust, and a clear voice for its members.

From vinyl spun by Papa Disco to heartfelt speeches (and a spreadsheet from our MC), the night celebrated everything that makes this precinct special: collaboration, character, and culture with edge. Showcasing the creative produced by Good Decisions in collaboration with our community.
